Who We Are

Just Like Home Respite Care provides temporary in-home relief for caregivers of loved ones. We know and understand the requirements, commitment, and dedication it takes to properly care for someone you love. Founder, Ursula Saunders, saw a need for respite care after becoming a caregiver for her mother in 2023. More recently, her husband was diagnosed with cancer, and she became his primary caregiver. Being a caregiver can be a rewarding and humbling experience, but we know it can also be very taxing and stressful. It leaves no time and energy for other areas of your life and leaving other personal roles unfulfilled. That is where Just Like Home comes in to fill those gaps so you can have time for you. Time to reenergize, recharge, and reset! Whether caring for a disabled child, a sibling, or aging parents, you need and deserve support. We offer professional, supportive services with empathy and compassion. We foster your peace of mind. At Just Like Home Respite Care, we care for the caregiver—because you deserve it!

 


Our Founder

Ursula Saunders has built a lifelong career of serving others. She had a career in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. From her volunteerism with United Way and other non-profit organizations, as well as her work in Hotel and Retail Management, she has been able to live out her calling to serve. She is a native of Alabama. Ursula is a wife and mother of four adult children and believes family comes second only to God. It is Ursula’s belief that serving others is a gift. It is her love, care, and compassion that embody the work and passion behind Just Like Home Respite Care. Her passion and drive are guided by the scripture: I Peter 4:9-10: “Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God”.(kjv)

    Basic Relief Care

    Our Basic Care services provide essential daily relief to care givers. Our care providers assist with personal needs such as bathing, dressing, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship. Our primary focus is to ensure that you have the peace of mind you deserve, while leaving your loved ones with one of our care providers.

    Memory Relief Care

    Our Care Providers will assist in providing compassionate service to your loved one living with Alzheimer, Dementia, or any other memory challenges. Our Care Providers create a safe, structured, and engaging environment while assisting with daily needs like bathing, dressing, meals, and medication reminders. With a focus on dignity and quality of life, we offer personalized care that brings comfort and peace of mind to both care givers and their families.
